In his daily walks around Newark, Armon surveys the streets of the Newark Downtown District, reporting on repairs that may be needed, inspecting to see if anything is out of place, and engaging with business owners to monitor their concerns or needs.

That’s because Dr. Suffiyah Webb and her staff make an extra effort to make the practice a welcoming place and adding great music to their Fridays is just one of the many ways they do that.

As Project Manager, Evan is constantly reconciling the goals and objectives of a project with the realities of timelines, checkpoints, and deliverables.

Melanie is the CEO of three businesses; that number is no accident. She likes to think of herself as a trifecta. She was a Hall of Fame shot putter in high school, began her career as an opera singer, and then pivoted to commercial real estate, creating the trifecta of sports, arts, and business.

John has worked for the NDD for seven years, holding several positions before his current job as Operations Supervisor. He had previously worked for the County Parks Department, and he finds the chance to maintain and beautify downtown Newark rewarding.

Kai Campbell was born and raised in Newark, and he has always known he wanted to return to the city and help promote its economic development.

In his capacity as Marketing Associate, Peter’s jobs include business liaison, social media creator, in-house creator of collateral material, and small business support, to name a few.

Traci loves her job. As a leader of 11 ambassadors, she is always ready to encourage her team and keep them focused and energized as they complete their daily cleaning tasks on their routes throughout the Newark Downtown District footprint.

Jessica started at the NDD in an administrative position after graduating from Rutgers. She gradually learned more about the operational side and eventually rose to her current position, where she manages a crew of over 100 ambassadors, as well as team leaders.
